When it comes to snacks, Nigeria has them on a whole other level and I'm sure my fellow Nigerians would agree. With Nigerian snack recipes, you can't resist asking for more . We have a whole lot of different Nigerian style snacks ranging from small snacks such as chin-chin, spring-rolls, samosas, etc. to the larger ones such as meat-pies, doughnuts, puff-puff, egg roll and many more.

Puff-puff  also known as deep fried dough is one of the popular snacks among Nigerians and even in some other parts of the world. 50 g of granulated sugar (Well this depends on your taste though).
2-3 tspn of instant yeast.
Nutmeg for flavoring (this is optional and you can use any other flavor of our choice).
Salt.
About 300-500 ml of warm water.
Vegetable oil.

Cooking method:

1. Pour flour into a large mixing bowl and add salt, nutmeg, sugar to taste, and add 2-3 tspn of yeast. sugar to taste and mix.

     2. Now, slowly add warm water and mix until smooth

        3. You should make sure you don't put excess water. The mixture should be like this๐Ÿ‘‡

4. Once mixture is ready, cover and place it to cool in a warm place for 45 mins-1 hour till the mixture rises.

5. Once your mixture has risen, it should look like this๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

6. Now mix together again

7. Pour vegetable oil into a deep pot or pan and pre-heat.
Make sure the oil is not too hot.
If you're not sure if the oil is hot enough, put in a small amount from your mixture, and if it's hot enough it should start to cook immediately. If it's too hot it start browning immediately and the inside doesn't cook properly.

8. Once you're sure oil is hot enough, scoop the mixture into the oil. To scoop the mixture, you can use your hand, an ice cream scooper or any deep spoon.

9. Fry until brown and then remove.

Now your puff is ready to be enjoyed...hmm yumm
